Muhitira, Nyirarukundo win 15 Kilometers Race of Kigali

The 15km Race of Kigali has been organized under the partnership between the Rwanda Athletics Federation, City of Kigali, and TIGO as Sponsor the event took place in Kigali on 5th February 2017. The Event was composed by a Competition of 15 Kilometers for both Women and Men category.

The competition was brought at the occasion of the Car Free Day event organized the 1st week of every months by the City of Kigali, Ministry of Sports and Culture, in partnership with different various institutions including Rwanda Athletics Federation.

The races started at 8:30 am at the stadium , and the runners followed the closed road for Car Free Day that’s from Amahoro National Stadium – Kisiment, Guishushu – KBC – Sopetrad – Round about of the City center, turn back from there and finish at the headquarters of RRA – Kimihurura after turning around the roundabout of Kimihurura. Felicien Muhitira finished number one in the 15km men category while In women’s fray, youngster Nyirarukundo, won the race

Alongside the competition, Rwanda Athletics Federation organized Kids athletics event attended by 400 Kids from different schools in Kigali.
