The Rwanda Athletics Team heads to Poland
The Rwanda national Junior athletics team leaves the country this Saturday 16th July 2016 for the IAAF World U20 Championships Bydgoszcz 2016 to be held in Poland Bydgoszcz from 19th to 24th July 2016, beaming with confidence of rocking the goals after winding up training at Amahoro National Stadium, Kigali.
The Team, that was given a warm send off by the Honorable Minister of Sports and Culture UWACU Julienne last Friday 15th, comprises the top cream in the country and young energetic runners NISHIMWE Beatha, Nyirarukundo Salome, Iribagiza Honorine, Sugira James, Myasiro Jean Marie Vianney.
Nyirarukundo Salome will compete in 10,000meters, Nishimwe Beatha in 1500meters Iribagiza Honorine in 800m , Sugira James in 1500m and Myasiro Jean Marie Vianney in 10,000m.
The Team is headed by RUKUNDO B. Johnson The General Secretary of Rwanda Athletics Federation.
All these Junior athletes are in the team by merit because they all qualified for the competition and their brilliant out-come should not surprise athletics fraternity as the team jet out of the country.
The IAAF World U20 Championships (formerly named the IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics up to November 2015) are the world championships for junior aged athletes (19 years old or younger on 31 December in the year of the competition), organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations. It is held biennially since 1986.
